Robbed and the Sunshine

Today I was robbed. Yes, you read that right, and I don't think I was the only one. I really want to know who is the brilliant one who decides that each. and. every. day. for the last week to increase the fuel prices? Who do they think we are? Obviously people with so much extra cash sitting around that we don't know what to do with it. So we decide that we should give to the oil companies. Just for fun. Hmmm....nope, I don't think I fit into that percentage. My hard earned monies made from wiping dirty bums, playing princessess and strolling around the park have sooo many better uses. Like buying more training sessions at they gym saving for my kids education. Okay, so I am not that selfish. I put money away each and every month for the both of them in hopes that they will want to further their education in 17 yrs or so. Now I sit here 69 dollars lighter because I so thoughtfully gave to the oil companies. Your welcome.

Onto other things....yesterday and today were just b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! The kiddies and I spent some much needed time outside in the basking sun. Seriously I think that if I was going to have to spend any more days cooped up inside I was going to go insane. Welcome spring!

Some shots of our fun...

Feel the love...feel the love

***

I just adore my kiddies soooo dang much!! They are what makes me get up and face the day. Every. Single. Day. And I LOVE them for it. They are my pride and joy. They are the cutest kids I know. Hey, I'm allowed to say that cause I am their Mommy and well, they'd be lost without me :) And who am I kidding, I'd be even more lost without them. I love them to bittens my dear Princess Kaytlin and my Prince Carson. You guys are the best!!

Rainy days and cardboard boxes

A couple weeks ago I splurged and got me some new pots and pans. I swear that first night I cooked with them....it was veggie stir-fry in our house that day...the food tasted soooo darn good. Was it the new pots? Was it just my fabulous cooking...haha? Or was it just all in my head? I think it must have been a combination of the new pots and of course my fab cooking as the food still tastes great...yum!

Kaytlin had fun with the box.

Why didn't I keep that box I ask myself. It's such cheap entertainment. Makes me wonder why I buy toys. That require batteries!

Then she became 'Princess Kaytlin' and Carson of course 'Prince Carson'. You can see he had no choice in the matter. That is what big sisters do. They make choices for their baby brothers. Those choices of course benefit them. She is lucky he doesn't talk back yet. Too cute.

I think our next rainy day shall consist of empty egg cartons and pipe cleaners. Let the imagination run wild.

So I've been tagged...

So dear Holly over at 'this and that' tagged me. I think she is secretly trying to get my butt in gear to get posting some new stuff....hehe :) Really I had intentions today...really, I did. Now I just need to follow through and for you, Holly, I am doing it. :) You best be proud, you have high ranking...hehe :)

So, here it is folks...

The rules:
1. Post the name and URL of the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules
3. Write seven things about yourself
4. Put the links in to your 7 favourite blogs
5. Name 7 people you are going to tag
6. Post a comment on their blog to say they’ve been tagged.

So 7 wonderful things about yours truly...hmmmm.....

1. I just started going to the gym for the first time in my life in January of this year....now i have found a new love. Love. love. love my PT! It is for him that I give credit to my 13lb loss thus far.

2. After trying to get into college here in Ontario for Dental Assisting, and not getting accepted, I ventured out west to Saskatchewan to attend Briercrest. It was the best two years of my life and I still talk on a weekly to monthly basis with the girls I lived with out there. They are very dear to my heart and if there is one thing that I have to look back on in life, it is choosing to be at that school, at that time (1999-2001) in my life. God knew what he was doing.

3. I have 2 wonderful children, who amaze me each. and. every day! I love them to bits and wouldn't have it any other way.

4. I met my dear hubby online. We pretty much knew we wanted to get married before we even met. Crazy, as seeing all he knew about me was what he had read through our daily emails and IM chats. No photos, no skype, no videos. Guess he was pretty trusting. And here we are 6 years later. Guess the rest is history.

5. My brother and I are only 13 mths apart. We got married 3 mths apart and our girls are 5 mths apart. Timing....ya, good timing :)

6. I have an ice cream obsession. I am trying to get it under control. When I was pregnant with Carson I had a bowl each. and. every. day! Now, I'm paying for it.

7. I never used to like going anywhere by myself. Now, I can't wait till I can get out of the house by myself. Don't get me wrong, I am all for family outings and doing things with the kiddies...but tell me have you lugged around an 18lb infant, in his car seat nonetheless, and a 25lb toddler together? Thank goodness I am going to the gym!

So now on to #4
My 7 favorite blogs to read are...

1. Cheaper Than Therapy
2. Classy Chaos
3. Dutch Blitz
4. Dooce
5. The Cheaty Monkey
6. Don Mills Diva
7. Shamelessly Sassy

Now, # 5...Seven ppl to tag. Do I even have 7 ppl to tag??? Let's see....

1. Jaime
2. Jen
3. Twila
4. Heather
5. Lynelle
6. Tiffany
7. ???

Guess that's it....

7lbs and some inches

So I am roughly 7 weeks in and 7lbs down! Yay for me! I meet with my dear trainer today for workout session #8 of 15 and things are going well. Really well. He did my weight and measurements today and I am down 7 pounds...yes, 7 pounds and 14.25 inches. Very excited I am. Yep, very excited. And really, out of those 7 weeks I have only been able to be active with my 4 day a week routine visiting my new found love (the gym people...they gym!) for 5. With my fall earlier in February and then being sick I was out of commission for 2 weeks. Felt like a month, but nonetheless, I am back at it and going strong.

I am up to 43 minutes on the eliptical machine...whooot!! My goal is to get to 60 minutes. So slowly but surely I will get there. Yes, I will.

My clothes have started getting a bit loose here and there, but alas, I am still not into my clothes from before Kaytlin was born. That is going to take a bit more than 7 weeks!! But, I am determined and am hoping to get there. When? That I don't know...but one day, one day.

I want to lose roughly 25-30 more pounds and then I will be happy. With that said though, I am not too overly concerned with the number on the scale, but rather the inches and how my body feels and how my clothes are fitting. Did i mention that 6.25 of those inches came directly off my waist! Yes, the WAIST !! I couldn't believe it. Neither could trainer for that matter. Impressed? Ya, a little. He knows that I am doing my stuff so I guess that is good. Right Holly? As a past trainer you like to know your clients are doing what they need to be doing.

So I will take tomorrow off and then be back at it Monday morning kiddies in tow.

Pee Pee Tee Pee's

Pee Pee Tee Pee's for the Sprinkling Wee Wee. Definately not one of those 'gotta go get right this instant' baby products, but for sure something that is fun! And hey, these were a gift from my dear Mama, so I am using them and getting a kick out of them at the same time.

Carson of course just does his thing if he wants to do his thing either way. Do they work? In some instances yes. In others no. It's all dependant on the way she's pointed if you know what I mean. He hasn't masted the 'aim it in the 'tee pee' and keep it there' yet! hehe :)

Since these came into the house, Kaytlin however, has become addicted to watching every move of Carson's during diaper change time. She has got to be right there beside me. On her stool. Taking it all in. And for the love, the slight chance that I happen to quickly change his bum without her involvement, it means opening up the diaper so she can examine his deed! Why oh why? You got me. She's a funny one.

Walk-In Clinics...Friend or Foe?

A week ago today I headed out to the walk-in clinic we frequent since hubby insisted that I take the kids to get checked out. Kaytlin has had this ongoing cough for going on 5mths now, and although her paediatrican seemed to think everything was A-OK, hubby was still a little apprehensive. So off went. It's times like these when driving 45 minutes to the paediatrican just isn't worth it. Have you ever tried finding a good doctor, let alone a paediatrician in the GTA? Talk about a major undertaking!

So we are there. Me and the two kids in a germ infested room with 20 odd other people. I should have known were were going to come home with something!

Valentines night as hubby and I were catching the lastest episode of LOST...(can I just say, can you believe how good LOST is these days....wow!) Kaytlin woke up crying. You know, the cry where something is obviously wrong. She doesn't do that often, so off I run. Oh my.....what a sight! Her whole diner in bed with her. The poor thing...poor thing. So long story short, it didn't end there. We bathed, changed sheets, took her temperature and repeated that several times that looooong night! Now a week later she is on the mend.

With that said, Carson has now been sick and I got wind of it yesterday. Oh, how I hate being sick! Thankfully the heaving hasn't hit hubby yet, but time will tell. I am happy to say that I think I am in recovery mode now and have been able to hold in the little ity bit of breakfast and lunch that I took in. Fingers crossed!

On a side note, I have found a new family doctor and will be transferring our records this week. Yay! No more driving half way across the GTA to wait an hour to be seen for what always seems to be a 5 minute check.

Okay, time to catch a few winks since my babies are sleeping like little angels...LOVE.IT. when they synch it together like that!

Sooo peaceful...and yes Carson, you did 'Steal Mommy's Heart'. Muuuah xo

Family Day - Round 1

Today was 'Family Day'. Can't say that we did anything special. But the hubby and Kaytlin did shovel some ice!
Like father, like daughter.
Such a good helper. I love you sweetie...muuuah!
An ice rink perhaps? I've been good and stayed in the house. I've had to cancel 3 of my training sessions because of my fall a couple weeks ago....not a happy camper here.

And inside we had some fun too....
Kaytlin's wildly swinging hair was an attraction for Carson.
But he soon went from this....

...to this. Ahhh, these two are sooo different.

She is my 'wild child', taking after her Daddy of course. And he is my 'relaxed one', taking after moi!

To end off the day before the kiddies went to bed Kaytlin helped Ter put together my new stroller. It's only been sitting in the garage since October...heh heh, so what better a time than on 'Family Day'. Now I suppose I can venture out to the mall with both kids and not break an arm doing it!

Beauty eh? Note the potty on the right side. Our family room is not just for TV viewing and kids playing, but also for Kaytlin's deed doing. How fun!
